I bought this keyboard a couple years ago, Casio WK-3000 and I am wondering if the MIDI function on it means I can record music and download it to my computer? Or do I need a real music recorder for me to be able to record music?
I don’t have a drum set, but I was hoping I could record the drum beats separately from the keyboard music.
I have no idea what Im doing and any help in the right direction would be great. Thanks yall, one love.
It depends sometimes if its an old model, if not you can connect it to your computer with a double ended audio chord, I use that for my electric.

Do you want to make an analog sound recording exactly as you played it? Connect the line level audio output to your PC audio line level input. Then use a audio recording and editing program to make the recording. Audacity is a free down load.
MIDI is a protocol for capturing the individual notes played and how long they are to sound. It does not produce an audio recording. With appropriate software, you can generate sheet music of exactly what you have played, modify the midi file, and play it back thru your keyboard.
